It's a known fact that women find out they are autistic much later in life than men. There are lots of reasons for this, most of them sexist. I found out when I was sixty.

When I found out, I read up a lot about autism. Occasionally I tell people a bit of what I've learnt. I didn't turn into an "autistic advocate", but sometimes I do feel a blog post coming on.
